Bandit! is America's favorite Short-Tailed Bavarian Husky. Perhaps America's only Short-Tailed Bavarian Husky. Short-Tailed Bavarian Huskies are part Siberian Husky, part German shepherd mixed with some sort of pointer crossed with a Siberian Snot Hound.
We don't know much about the first chapter's of Bandit!'s story. We met him at the
North Country Animal League in January 2007. He'd ended up there after the local Animal Control Officer had hauled him off to doggy jail one too many times. Apparently, his first people didn't really care about having a dog and Bandit was put out to roam free.
We added the ! to his original name when we adopted him - because he's such a continuously action-oriented dog. As we start Bandit!'s blog, he's been with us in West Newbury, VT for almost a year. He's settled down, and is now just a most-of-the-time action oriented dog.
